Learning with the Integration Team
The Integration Team, which run our English language courses, is a key part of Ipswich Community Media.
We began delivering ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) with just 10 learners but since we began in 2015 we have received over 850 sign-ups. Now every week we welcome over 125 learners from over 20 different nationalities to our classrooms.
The team is mostly made up of migrants from a range of diverse backgrounds. Each member of our team is highly skilled and has extensive experience working with different communities.
We want to support individuals to overcome traditional barriers and fully integrate as members of their local communities. To this end we offer a range of activities including training, targeted activities, workshops and events.
Since we began in 2015 we have delivered over 450 ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses and now run 9 different courses every week in four different venues across Ipswich.
All of our classes are free and are open to Adult learners of all nationalities.
For more of an insight into the work the integration team do take a look at this video featuring Linda, one of our English tutors.
