Games Jam Resource Pack

South Street Kids is a weekly project we run with Saturday morning sessions for young people; gaining skills, confidence and developing a strong voice in their community. Recent sessions have included music making sessions, creating raps, and learning about graphic design! But as much fun as we were having we know it can be hard to concentrate for long periods of time, especially sitting in front of a screen all day. So Laura, one of the project leads, created this brilliant resource pack of games to break up the sessions.

The pack, for 7-11 year olds (Keystage 2), is filled with over 30 creative games to play online, and after trying it out with some Year 6 pupils it was clear to us the games are useful between each lesson to help re-energise and re-focus.

Laura says “Having worked online for almost a year, I know I personally needed to re-think and refresh my arsenal of games!”

The feedback from the kids has been equally positive. Here’s what one of our regular South Street Kids, R aged 13, had to say “It’s a bit overwhelming, all the school work I have to do and I miss my friends. It’s good to meet on Saturdays. We have loads of fun and we still play games even though it’s online! It’s really helped me to keep calm”

We’ve found this resource incredibly useful so we wanted to make it readily available for anyone to use! We hope you can have as much fun with it as we have.
